What if I don't know the middle
name for one or both of the
people on the birth record?

It’s extremely important that you give us the most accurate information because if Texas Vital Records can’t find your birth records in their database because of incomplete or wrong information we still get our full fees for doing the expedited filing for you.

With that said some people don’t legally have middle names and Texas Vital Statistics does not require a middle name to be submitted on the application search form or to issue a new Texas birth certificate.

We’ve helped many people get new Texas birth certificates issued that never listed either the mother’s or father’s middle name.
