What is a Texas death
verification letter?

If you or your company needs to verify or question a person’s official Texas death record you can order and receive a Texas death verification letter (this is NOT a Texas Death certificate) stating whether an official record of Texas death is on file with the State of Texas or not.

If a Texas death record is filed and found, the Texas death verification letter issued will include the deceased person’s full legal name, the date of the event (official date of death), and the Texas county where the death occurred.

If no Texas death record is found by the State of Texas database you’ll be issued a No Death Record Found letter from the Texas Department of State Health Services (Texas Vital Records/Texas Vital Statistics).

Texas death verification letters are only available for Texas deaths that occurred after 1903.
