Can I order a new Texas birth certificate
if I don't know the child's father's name?

Yes and no.

It depends on one thing.

1. No, you cannot order or obtain a new certified Texas birth certificate copy from Texas Vital Records directly or rushed through our company if the legal birth father’s name is not properly listed and spelled by you on the official Texas Vital Records application form that we must get from you and/or you do not know the birth father’s full legal name but the birth father’s name IS LISTED on the official birth record with the State of Texas.

Meaning, if the child’s birth father’s name is already listed along with the legal birth mother’s name on the originally issued Texas birth certificate (already listed in the official Texas birth records database) you must list the full legal name and correct spelling of the child’s birth father exactly how it appears on the original birth certificate to be able to obtain a new certified Texas birth certificate copy.

If you spell the birth father’s first, middle, or last name wrong in any way on the state application form your application will be rejected by the state and you will be out all the money that you paid us to rush file your application form with the state.

2. Yes, you can order and obtain a new certified Texas birth certificate copy from Texas Vital Records directly or rushed through our company if the legal birth father’s name IS NOT LISTED on the original Texas birth certificate or officially recorded in the Texas birth records database already.

Meaning, if the legal birth father’s name is NOT listed along with the legal birth mother on the originally issued Texas birth certificate (already listed in the official Texas birth records database) you do not need to know or put the child’s birth father’s name down on the application form to be able to obtain a new certified Texas birth certificate copy.

Please DO NOT order with our company if you do not know the child’s birth father’s full legal name and correct spelling or if you leave that section blank on the application form if the child’s birth father’s name IS already listed on the original issued Texas birth certificate your application will be denied 100% by the state and you will be out all the money you paid us to rush file your application for you.

There are no refunds for any reason as we state on this website and our order form that you must sign to acknowledge and accept this.

You are only paying Birth Certificate Texas to rush file your birth certificate application form in person with the Texas Vital Records office in Austin, TX, and not to obtain for you per se a new birth certificate copy.
