What is a Texas
birth verification letter?

If you or a family member needs to verify a person’s official Texas birth you will receive a Texas birth verification letter stating whether a record of Texas birth record is on file with the State of Texas or not.

If a Texas birth record is filed and found, the Texas birth verification letter will include the person’s full legal name, the date of the event (official birthdate), and the Texas county where the Texas birth occurred.

If no Texas birth record is found by the State of Texas databases you’ll be issued a Texas No Birth Record Found letter from the Texas Department of State Health Services.

Texas birth verification letters are only available for Texas births that occurred after 1903.
